Design Lead / Lead Designer

Nitartha Publications is looking for a Design Lead / Lead Designer to guide our creative team and oversee all visual design for our publications. This role sets creative direction, manages projects from concept to completion, and ensures high-quality, consistent design across print and digital formats.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of designers
Set creative direction and maintain design standards
Manage projects, timelines, and workflows from brief to delivery
Collaborate with editors, proofreaders, production, and fulfillment teams
Incorporate user feedback and improve design based on user needs
Review and approve all design work; ensure brand consistency
Produce hands-on design assets when needed
Oversee eBook production, testing, formatting, and uploads
- Note: Vajrayana publications must be handled by a qualified practitioner.

Skills

Strong leadership, communication, and project management
Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
Typography, layout, attention to detail
Familiarity with HTML/CSS, eBook publishing, and print production
UI/UX and branding experience (asset)
Understanding of niche publishing markets

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field
2+ years in a senior design role
Proven experience managing design projects
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
